360 North is Alaska’s public affairs channel. Part of the statewide offerings of Alaska public television, it is the most widely distributed television channel in Alaska offering a full-time schedule of Alaska programming, public affairs specials, documentaries, historical programs, Native interest shows and coverage of Alaska government.
360 North is an outgrowth of Gavel to Gavel Alaska. Gavel Alaska coverage of the legislature began in 1995 and expanded into the new 360 North media service in 2007 originating from public station KTOO in Alaska’s capital, Juneau.
360 North is delivered to viewers in many ways – by satellite, over transmitters, on cable and the web. It is available statewide to every cable TV system in Alaska including GCI Cable, the states largest. The service is broadcast over the air on digital transmitters on KAKM-DT in Anchorage, KYUK-DT in Bethel and KTOO-DT in Juneau, and is also available to Dish Network and DirectTV satellite subscribers. Additionally, the entire broadcast schedule is streamed live on the internet.
360 North is the only channel that is dedicated to Alaska programming, information about Alaska and programs of interest to Alaskans. Our mission is to provide unique Alaskan programs, original statewide productions and events for broadcast and streaming on the web.
